The story of al-Khidr, peace be upon him, in Judaism and Islam, a comparative study

Abstract

The study aimed to address the story of Al-Khidr in Judaism and Islam, and to explain the similarities and differences in dealing with this story. The story of al-Khidr was explicitly mentioned in the Holy Qur’an and the honorable hadiths of the Prophet, and it was not mentioned in the Old Testament, but rather in the Talmud.

The study concluded by saying that the personality of al-Khidr that the Jews are talking about is different from the personality of al-Khidr among Muslims, and the difference is not limited to the personality of al-Khidr only, but it includes many elements of the story.
