CALLING SOMEONE OTHER THAN THE MESSENGER WITH “AL-SADIQ, AL-MASDOOQ”

Abstract


It is well-known that the title (Al-Sadiq, AL-Masdooq) is obviously for the Prophet (peace be upon him) until someone called it on others. This research based on Inductive and Deductive approach. It came to several results; Among them: This title was given to five: two of the great companions, and three of the followers and their followers, and these three ranks are varied among the hadith narrators. Those who are in the highest and middle ranks of authentication, and those who are in the lowest ranks of jarh, and that this title is not specific to the Prophet (may God bless him and grant him peace) but it was shared by others. Among the most important recommendations of the research: Studying the significance of calling the Prophet (may God bless him and grant him peace) the title “Al-Sadiq Al-Masdooq” in some hadiths but not others.
